2. Classes Are Essentially Out (Or Majorly Disincentivised)

As Activision still refuse to allow any playlists where Specialists are omitted, general COD gameplay has been forced to change further to highlight their inclusion.

Case in point: The essential removal of classes, and the replacement of "characters".

Though there are many unlockable perks you can grab to use with your customisable soldier in the majority of game modes, the beta only confirmed the direction the franchise is going in: That of superhero shooters where you're picking a playstyle based not on a loadout of unlockables, but a character with defined abilities.

Arguably this is a way for newcomers to leap into slightly less competitive or perk-focused game modes, only to build up towards "standard COD gameplay", but that's not how Black Ops 4 is presenting itself.
