Call Of Duty: Every Game Ranked From Worst To Best

18. Call Of Duty: Black Ops DS

Call Of Duty Franchise
Activision

The full version of Black Ops is great (spoiler alert) and it's almost a shame Activision decided they had to release a companion for the DS, because the developers simply didn't do the full version justice. It very much feels like a hack-job done by someone who didn't really get why the full game works.

The Story Mode is no way near as assured as the excellent, intelligent work of Black Ops, but the levels themselves are reasonably engaging. And there is something to be said about their variation in design and gameplay. They're just not very well bridged.

Graphically, the game is best described as idiosyncratic, but the multiplayer element is a great inclusion, and so too is the Zombies sub-game. It's not quite as polished as the Modern Warfare DS version, but it's still a pleasant enough handheld experience.
