After Black Ops II got back on its feet after a rocky start, the final two maps of the DLC season, to this day, have been completely unmatched. While we'll leave the first of the two for now, the final map for Black Ops II not only set the third act of the Aether storyline in motion, but it introduced us to a much more grounded and self-aware version of our already-established cast. Set in an alternate universe during the first world war, Origins took us on an exhilarating, 115-induced roller coaster ride.

Introducing four buildable, elemental wonder weapons, environmental hazards in the form of giant robots stomping across the map every so often, and a rideable, flamethrower-spitting tank, Black Ops II was rounded off not with a bang, but with a nuke. The second-largest map in Zombies history (the biggest being TranZit), you were almost constantly on the move.

Four staffs, a shield, and a companion drone to build, zombies, Panzersoldats, and giant robots to avoid, as well as a power system made up of six generators which are constantly being attacked by ethereal Templar Zombies, you'll never be strapped for things to do.

Origins was the biggest spectacle in the entire Aether saga, something I would say has remained unmatched to this day, but it also kicked off arguably the best arc in the entire storyline.
