6. Multiplayer Is Clumsy & Frustrating

The recent multiplayer beta left a lot of fans worried that Call of Duty's signature addictive, fast-paced gameplay had finally fallen off a cliff. Unfortunately, despite the changes Infinity Ward have made to the final multiplayer suite, it's still an infuriating, awkward mess.

Even ignoring the rather uninspired level design and visual saminess of so many of the maps, the time-to-kill is ridiculously low, which combined with terrible lag compensation means you'll more often than not die before your brain has even processed the presence of an enemy.

This makes the game extremely casual-averse, yet even hardened veterans of the series will likely struggle to get a 1.0+ kill-death ratio. Considering it's come out following Battlefield 1, which has much more satisfying gunplay, and Titanfall 2, which has far slicker traversal, Infinite Warfare's offering this year is more annoying to play than enjoyable.

Ironically its disappointment couldn't come in a more opportune year, given the release of not only the aforementioned games but also Modern Warfare Remastered, which will no doubt serve as the series' saviour this time around.
