Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - 12 Things Nobody Wants To Admit

12. Killstreaks Kinda Suck

In the original Modern Warfare era, killstreaks were a huge deal. The standard progression of UAV, airstrike and helicopter defined an entire generation of multiplayer gamers, while chaining a Predator Missile into a Harrier Strike and then Chopper Gunner was as close to pure happiness that I think you can get (minus, maybe, acquiring a Tactical Nuke).

As the franchise moved away from relying solely on these (admittedly overpowered) rewards though, the less interesting they became to actually use. Acquiring them became more difficult, countering them became easier, and in general they kind of lost the charm they used to have.

Modern Warfare 2019 was originally set to change that by bringing killstreaks back (instead of adopting just the scorestreak system later games ushered in), but the results are middling. As always, the basic UAVs reign supreme, while old favourites like the Chopper Gunner don't pack the punch they used to.

Throw in some forgettable ones like the, uh, *checks notes* the Wheelson, and it's generally disappointing.
