Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Review - 6 Ups & 5 Downs
4. Spawns Are Frustrating
Spawns were one of the beta's most complained-about aspects, and sadly they don't seem to be much improved in the final game.
Whether you're playing the epic, jam-packed Ground War or even a less-busy 10v10 mode, it's not uncommon to find yourself spawning in ridiculously close proximity to enemies, who are then able to pick you off with a comical ease - or the other way around.
It's therefore extremely easy for players to "spawn trap" the opposing team, resulting in players racking up countless consecutive deaths in a row before they've had time to react or, you know, move.
Also, due to the large size of the maps, you may often find yourself spawning a huge distance from objectives, which combined with the low TTK, can make pressing forward for the win a slightly demoralising experience.
Granted, with Modern Warfare's more ambitious player load in Ground War, there were always going to be teething problems, but given that it affects even modes with smaller player counts, it's clear that the spawns are desperately in need of a tweak.
