Call Of Duty: WW2 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

3. The Incredible Sound Design

Say what you will about the CoD franchise, but one area where it always succeeds is the sound department. Call of Duty is an aural feast for the ears, and if you dare to play WW2 wearing fancy headphones, you'll feel effortlessly transported into the sensorily disorientating horror of the Second World War.

The gunshots sound immensely crisp, the reloads are eargasmic, and the explosions legitimately terrifying. The voice work is also first-rate throughout, especially Josh Duhamel as Technical Sergeant William Pierson, and though the musical score's perhaps a little workmanlike, it does a fine enough job pumping the player up.

Do yourself a favour and make sure you play this game through an awesome set of speakers or headphones: your TV's tinny in-built speakers just won't do it justice.
