Call Of Duty: WWII - 10 Classic Multiplayer Maps That Should Return
6. Cliffside
Thematically, any map hailing from World at War would be a perfect fit for WWII, but this particular haven relies on a timeless map layout that's too tantalizing to ignore. The three-lane format is a classic as old as the FPS genre itself, but none promote it better than Cliffside.
The path to holding power here is decided by how talented your sniper buddies are. Plonk them down in the middle lane and they'll have an end-to-end view of the map, able to pick off those daring (read: foolish) enough to make the crossing between its outer boundaries. For everyone else, that means protecting your long-range campers by flanking the enemy, either through the cramped ruins or the rocky cliffside.
It's a scenario that promotes play not too dissimilar to MOBAs. Ideally, you want control of every lane, only leaving your designated position to help another side when the time is right. Making a poor judgment call at any moment could cost you the game.
The best part? The setting is still relevant, so all Sledgehammer would need to do is bring Cliffside's aged visuals in line with modern expectations.
