Crash Bandicoot 4: 10 Hardest Levels Ranked

1. Toxic Tunnels

Similar to "Draggin' On" and "Bears Repeating," Toxic Tunnels is another appropriately-named level. Not because it describes exactly what the level is, but because this level is *toxic*.

While Rush Hour is technically the longest level in the game, Toxic Tunnels might be even longer if you incorporate the Colored Gem Route. This route is the hardest thing I have ever played in a platformer, and I'm not exaggerating.

This section goes on forever and offers absolutely no reprieve, so you either beat the entire thing in one go, or you have to start all the way back over again.

Not only that, but this level contains some of the cruelest hidden box and Wumpa Fruit placement in the game, especially considering how much of a test of patience the gem route is. You have to explore every single crevasse of this level, and literally everything around you is trying to kill you, all the time.

I understand that this is a late-game level and should be a test of the skills you've honed throughout your adventure, but there are times where this level feels flat-out unfair. And that is the last feeling that a game developer should ever wish to manifest.
