Crash Bandicoot 4: 10 Hardest Levels Ranked
8. Out For Launch
What is it with these "Intro to New Mask" levels and being super-duper difficult?
Out For Launch introduces us to Ika Ika, the anti-gravity mask. While the initial tests with the new mask are elementary to pass, the major test comes at the end of the level, where you have to dodge a salvo of attacks and Nitro crates while properly timing the aforementioned anti-gravity mechanics.
There are enemies that electrify the surrounding ground (which can be difficult to kill upside down), enemies that shoot at you at inopportune times, and enemies that send electric beams down from their spaceships.
There are also precariously-placed crates (as well as the aforementioned Nitro crates, which are also in very inconvenient places) lined with lasers that will kill you upon touching them.
To make matters worse, you have to do this section *again* in its alternate timeline level, Shipping Error. The first third or so of this level is a Cortex section, one that is made unnecessarily hard by a section of moving platforms that Cortex has a lot of trouble landing on, thanks to that little linger he does in the air whenever he does a dash.
Then, once you get through that, you navigate an even-harder version of the section described above. Have fun repeating this section 40-50 times!
Oh, and it has an incredibly difficult Bonus stage. So there's that too.
