Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy: 10 Iconic Levels We Can't Wait To Play

3. Slippery Climb

Earlier entries into the list have been praised for their atmosphere, level design, soundtrack and style. Slippery Climb is the master of all of these.

Not only does Slippery Climb actually inject a large amount of difficulty into a game already well known for being the most difficult in the series, but it also has a fantastic level design. As you slowly ascend Cortex's castle in the rain, the platforms slowly get harder and harder, making it feel like you are truly progressing towards something final.

The atmosphere is also perfect, with the aforementioned rain filling the screen and dripping from the castle walls. Crash stands out perfectly against the gloomy backdrop too, meaning you never lose him in the environment.

The level itself is a beautiful, challenging and memorable final act to the first Crash and it's one of the levels that many fans already regard as one of the best in the game. It should be even better with a fresh look.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
