Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled - 10 Best Tracks
2. Hyper Speedway
Hyper Speedway certainly lives up to its name and often feels like it’s the fastest track in the game; certainly it’s one where you can’t afford to take your eyes off the road ahead for a moment.
The design is so complex, in fact, that Nitro Kart didn’t even bother with a map, as having one would be far too confusing to read anyway.
For most tracks, you’re able to look ahead and anticipate what’s coming up, but in Hyper Speedway, it’s impossible. Even when you’re not at a portal, there are so many ramps, jumps and rotating hazards that there seems no way to judge which path to take.
Online, when the safer lines are often littered with exploding potions and crates, it’s even harder.
What’s most impressive about Hyper Speedway is that it’s an entirely new idea. Lots of the Nitro Kart tracks are clearly inspired by ones which came before it in 1999’s Crash Team Racing. With Hyper Speedway, it’s the real deal, not an imitation.
