Hey, if Pura and Polar are playable, why not?

The Hog, from the first Crash Bandicoot, was the first rideable creature in the series, carrying you through Hog Wild and other pig related levels of the title. When the follow-ups moved away from an island setting and into the warp room format, Polar and Pura came into play.

Polar and Pura have always somewhat made sense, seeing as their levels had a feel of ‘race’ to them, as you shot through the level.

Back in Crash Bandicoot though, the island’s rideable creature of choice was The Hog. Those levels remain many peoples’ favourites, so The Hog would be a very welcome addition to the roster.

Does he look a bit similar to Dingodile? Maybe, but aren’t Zem, Zam & Real Velo similar? Crunch is just Crash after a few sessions at the gym. There’s definitely enough of a gap for both The Hog and Dingodile to be included.

Though he doesn’t have a great deal of personality, characterisation or narrative, he’s an iconic part of the game and a high point of their first ever title. He’s more than earned his seat at the table.
