3. You Can Drift To Build Turbo In Mid-Air

Another "don't stop boosting!" point, it's worth keeping in mind that on certain tracks where jumps or ramps lead into corners, you can start your drift before taking off.

As you begin the drift and are still hurtling towards the ramp, you can still hit R1 to take off (adding to your overall boost reserve, but more on that in a bit), but keep an eye on the overall turbo meter, because as it maxes out, you'll want to prod L1/L like you would on the ground, to keep speeding up.

Basically the only thing that changes when you're in mid-air is the use of the standard brake. Otherwise, feel free to drift through the skies and come back down at max speed.
