12. Hop Multiple Times To Tighten Your Handling Or Any Drift

You'll find when experimenting with CTR's drift mechanics, that they're far less "floaty" than the likes of Mario Kart or Team Sonic Racing.

Where those games let you micromanage where you are on the track from within the drift itself, CTR is all about locking a drift angle in, and following it through.

You can still move tighter or wider if need be, but sometimes you'll find your racer careening towards the outside of a given corner, destined to smash the wall itself.

It's here where careful, timed use of the hop button can tighten your line to get you through a corner no matter what.

Many players repeatedly hop when flying through fast chicanes like those at the end of N. Gin's Lab or the outdoor sections of Cortex Castle, but know that a hop doesn't just start a drift - it can maintain and refine one, too.
