8. How To Bypass The Power-Up Spinner

It's the final straight, and you just went through a crate.

Now you're waiting for the game to give you a missile or other race-winning power-up... but it's too late. You're through the finishing line before it's even appeared.

So let's change that.

Tap your console's requisite "use power-up" button (Circle, B or A) when you smash a crate, and you'll stop the roulette spinner right there, awarding the item the game was going to settle on anyway.

Don't worry, there's no way to always get missiles or anything - but bypassing the animation can make all the difference.
