Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
12. Fake Crash
Fake Crash was up in the lofty heights of third when it came to ranking the original game, but falls almost as far as Penta to settle in twelfth. He had the exact same thing as Penta going for him then, and suffers the exact same problem now: surprise.
Fake Crash was a surprising reward for 100% completion of Adventure Mode back in 1999, but can now be unlocked via the slightly easier challenge of the Purple Gem Cup. Back then though, he just popped up out of the blue. Unless you were super into Crash and either read up in the various game magazines or had explored every inch of Warped, you probably didn't know he existed.
These days, he's still kicking about in the background of the N. Sane trilogy, but a trophy/achievement invites you to go find him. In Nitro Fueled, he's on the character select screen with a padlock over his face.
The game tells you that he's there. It keeps Penta under wraps, though the internet has spoiled that secret so they likely would have with Fake Crash too. He's decent for a chuckle, but without the element of surprise he's no longer top ten material.
