Crash Team Racing PS1: Ranking EVERY Racer From Worst To Best

Coco Bandicoot had already been a playable character in a handful of levels in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped before Crash Team Racing came along, with the Pura riding levels, jet ski levels and biplane levels her business. Still, it was a nice treat to be able to play through an entire campaign as her.

Like N. Gin, she's the acceleration expert of the original eight racers, and again it makes sense here. Clearly the brains of the Bandicoot operation, Coco has kitted out her kart with some extra gear to get it off the starting blocks faster. Considering a good deal of the game is spent recovering from being blasted with projectiles, it's a good skillset to have.

Bringing Coco aboard the franchise was definitely a good idea, helping diversify the roster, give the good guys a technical expert and add to the world building around Crash. That said, with the games lacking for story somewhat, she's hardly developed from just a technical whiz.

As one of the few girls (ie the only girl racer in the game) she still brings a lot of fans, and is a little unlucky to find herself short of the top five.
