Dingodile starts the game with Tiny Tiger as the fastest character on the roster. He too could sometimes run your tail very close in Adventure Mode, but it didn't seem to happen nearly as often... maybe he just had a less imposing silhouette.

Regardless, he was a more popular choice of the two speedsters. Far less annoying to play against, it's for the best that Dingodile seemed the prefered choice. These are probably very closely linked though, and overall it puts Dingodile considerably higher up the list.

Continuing the metaphor of Tiny Tiger being akin to Joey Barton, when Barton played for your team you supported him, but you didn't always feel clean about it.

The same rings true of Tiny; he was fun to wind up your mates with, but playing solo there was less of a point. Dingodile's quips were funnier, less grating and had a bit more range, so it made sense for him to be the go to speed freak.

In Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, he has arguably the best boss battle in the original trilogy too, so brings and considerable amount of fans in from that.
