Crash Team Racing PS1: Ranking EVERY Racer From Worst To Best
14. Papu Papu
We'll get into the good characters soon, promise.
Papu Papu felt like a strange choice for a boss in the first Crash Bandicoot, and that's true here too. Yes, if you strain you can see the storyline of Crash on his island and him being tribal chief but blah blah blah; it all feels very blah blah blah.
They didn't really justify bringing him back here, considering his lack of popularity and Koala Kong being left on the sidelines behind of him. He's just very bland. Far duller than Pinstripe, but his track is a good deal more related to him, so he gains points there.
He's like a fatter Pocahontas, with Naughty Dog so concerned with not making him stereotypical that they didn't make him, well, anything at all, really.
He has the decency to be a fairly easy boss battle too, so you never have to spend that much time around him, thankfully. He's not the first boss, although he seems to think he is.
Get the key then get out of there, likely without ever picking him in solo. Just a bit naff.
