Crash Team Racing PS1: Ranking EVERY Racer From Worst To Best

Komodo Joe straddles the line between Pinstripe & Papu and the rest of the list. He's tolerable enough that you'll struggle to find anyone who really dislikes him, but if you ask the room how many of them have Komodo Joe as their favourite, you'll see the same number of hands in the air: a big fat zero.

The lisp/speech impediment thing doesn't really work, and the one bit of uniqueness Joe had in Crash Bandicoot 2 was his brother, who's not present here. A gruesome twosome style racer like in Wacky Races could have given Komodo Joe some novelty value, but instead he went stag.

Where Papu Papu is offensively dull, making you question why he's even there, Komodo Joe is forgettably dull. You'd think then that he'd come off worse, but when the battle is between second bottom and third bottom, it's better to drift by than be actively disliked.

Are there some Komodo Joe racers out there? Probably, but that still begs the question as to why? Some link to liking his admittedly very fun boss battle in Crash 2 likely has a lot to do with it.
