Crash Team Racing PS1: Ranking EVERY Racer From Worst To Best

N. Gin is Dr Cortex's second is command, and is representing the bad guys in the default roster in the acceleration category. It's a popular class to play in, and there's a lot of players who like being the baddies, especially in a game like this where they're so cartoonishly over the top.

All that combines to make him a popular choice on the original game, but there's still a bit of a sense that something's missing. N. Gin's boss battles in Crash Bandicoot 2 & 3 see him in control of a hugely impressive mechanical contraption; 3 even sees him fly out to space with it.

Obviously, it wouldn't do for him to have that rocket ship robot monster in Crash Team Racing, but once you've seen what an utterly mad genius he can be, having him use his prowess to - get this - make his car accelerate a bit faster feels very lame indeed.

He's still a good character, but they certainly could have played up the deranged stuff a little more. Middle of the pack sounds about right for him here.
