Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Review

The Perfect Recipe For Pain.

Cuphead The Delicious Last Course
Studio MDHR Entertainment Inc.

Score: ★★★★½

It's very easy to scoff at the swathe of Video Game DLC, Expansions, and ungodly slime that goes by the name of "microtransactions" these days, what with so many stories of content being cut from the main game to specifically resell to customers later, entire gameplay loops being crafted around fishing for spare change from players and of course, the sheer amount each title seems to come preloaded with.

And that's why Cuphead's newest (and sadly also final) DLC "The Delicious Last Course" is such a refreshing sorbet experience. It provides incredible bang for your buck, is oozing with new ideas, and brilliantly addresses the few complaints about the vanilla games' difficulty, making it an exemplary piece of content that will more than satiate fans of the original.

This time around Cuphead and Mugman are summoned by their ghostly pal Chalice to check out something which will quite literally change their lives. And by that I mean she's teamed up with a mysterious new Baker who has the ability to infuse his recipes with the ability to hop between the real world and the astral plane. What this means for the player is a brand new Charm in the form of a Cookie which will swap either Mugman or Cuphead for Chalice, a brand new playable character.
