Cyberpunk 2077: 10 Coolest Features We Can't Wait To Play

7. Playstyle: Netrunner

CYBERPUNK 2077

The third and final playstyle, the NetRunner class, is by far the most cyberpunk. Rather than focusing on the hardware like Techies, NetRunners can hack into technology and machinery, manipulating it from the inside out.

It sounds promising, but then it sounded promising when Watch Dogs tried it, and the end result was a little bit limp. Certainly expectations are higher for Cyberpunk though, so the fact Watch Dogs and Ubisoft couldn’t get it right shouldn’t be held against them.

While NetRunners are stealth characters in principle, CD Projekt Red have stressed that they also have ‘cool, aggressive abilities’ if you want to attack problems head on.

For example, the more stealthy powers involve distractions, like hacking vending machines to attract enemy attention, or hacking into cameras to spot enemy positioning and yes, right now it all still sounds very Watch Dogs.

The more aggressive abilities though are where the NetRunner shines. You can hack turrets to use to your advantage, or hack into your opponents’ cybernetics to manipulate them, or even cause them to explode. Hopefully you’ll be able to pull the old ‘stop hitting yourself’ trick too.
