Though fans were wondering just how prominent a role the car featured in the trailer was going to play in the actual game, the hands-on demo has since confirmed that not only can you drive around the sandbox of Cyberpunk 2077, but vehicular combat as a whole is a major part of the gameplay.

Not only is your car a vital mode of transport to get across the sprawling open world of Night City, but it will also be implemented in combat missions which sees an A.I. take over the steering when you want to lean out a window and fire upon any enemies trying to ram you off the road. Admittedly, Cyberpunk wouldn't really be living up to its futuristic dystopian setting if players couldn't speed around claustrophobic neon streets while being pursued by criminals.

Furthermore, while controlling these vehicle sections players will be able to toggle between a third or first person view, hopefully giving fans the option for either more tactical awareness or the intimate intensity of FPS combat.
