Cyberpunk 2077: 10 Harsh Gameplay Truths You Need To Know

2. Shooting Is Pretty Bland

Previous Cyberpunk announcement have mentioned some pretty cool ideas for the gunplay to whet our collective appetites. The idea of bouncing bullets or curving shots around corners aren’t entirely new ideas, but they’ve never been tackled in a game as large or as open as this before.

Prior to the demo, it was probably the most anticipated feature.

Unfortunately, while there’s no way you could describe it as terrible, it certainly feels pretty weak. The inventiveness wasn’t really there, the Animals were just bullet sponges and nothing about the guns seemed especially cool.

Guns feature in a truly colossal amount of games these days, but Cyberpunk really seemed set to offer something different.

The aforementioned ripping apart of a turret with your bare hands was insanely visceral, though. Hopefully the gunplay is there to provide some covering fire between the abilities, rather than the major attraction.

Even with that, just ripping things apart over and over again will get stale after awhile. There’s every chance that there’s a variety of strength based abilities still, so it’s not worth writing the game off just yet.

CDPR have claimed it’s possible to complete a pacifist playthrough too, so maybe guns won’t be overused.
