Cyberpunk 2077 - EVERY New Gameplay Detail You Need To Know
2. Combat: Gunplay & Melee
Saving the best for last combat-wise, gunplay in Cyberpunk is apparently very weighty and responsive.
CDPR absolutely need to nail this side of things if their shift into a different genre is going to work, and so far, it seems to be paying off.
Besides basic crouching and aiming down sights, you can unlock slow-motion perks and enemy-tracking software. One shotgun that was shown off apparently fires shards of pure lightning, and all-round it feels like the devs want to serve you a straight-up power fantasy if you decide to spec towards firepower.
Alongside guns and explosives is a neat melee system, reminiscent of the original Xbox's Chronicles of Riddick titles. With no weapons equipped you can punch with the right trigger, block on the left, and dodge by double tapping circle/B.
Get your dodge right and you'll return with a well-timed counter, usually ending in the opponent having some of their augments ripped out in the process.
