One aspect about Cyberpunk 2077 that’s given some players a cause for concern is that it – unlike the Witcher series – is presented in a first-person perspective.

The first time that CDPR have produced a game from this perspective, some players have become skeptical about whether it's possible to have an in-depth RPG and an FPS game at the same time.

The answer to this is yes Cyberpunk can do both things, but only if we choose.

In a follow-up discussion with Ryan McCaffrey, Marks explains that, outside of combat, Cyberpunk is unquestionably an RPG.

In combat, however, players have the choice to turn these sections into FPS-style shootouts depending on how they want to play and approach their objectives.

But if you don’t want the action to turn into a shooting gallery it doesn’t need to. Marks clarifies that there are plenty of other roads that players can go down to tailor their experience to their preferred style.

Whether you want to use hacking and augmentations to stealth your way through missions, go in guns blazing, or even talk your way through situations, Cyberpunk really does let you play your way.
