Cyberpunk 2077 REVIEW - 6 Ups & 2 Downs

1. There Are Bugs

Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED

There are bugs, of course, and while none of the ones I experienced were game-breaking, they did break the immersion or become otherwise noticeable over time.

NPCs loaded T-posed, some characters talk over themselves, animations clipped in or out, and cars that loaded in looked like they were from Destruction Derby on the PS1 before more quality textures loaded in. I looked at them like ghosts in the shell of a gigantic, expansive open world, and to be honest, was shocked to not find more.

It's inexcusable to say "these bugs in a game you've been waiting 8 years for are ok" but I've seen patches come and go during my review period which upped the game significantly.

It might be a slightly bumpy landing but the speed at which these updates have come out makes me think (and hope) that things will be looking their best in short order.

Plus, none of the bugs affected the moment-to-moment gameplay other than the presentation, so I feel harsh marking this down as a review score-affecting negative.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still a 5 star game, and I look forward to everything CD Projekt RED will improve upon further in the coming years.
