Dark Souls: 10 Most Disgustingly-Programmed Boss Fights
3. The Four Kings
There was one particular mechanic which made The Four Kings such an infamously hard fight - the fact that, regardless of how fast or slow you were able to take them down individually, more and more would just keep on coming. The fight starts with just one of the kings. In an area which is so scarily disorientating, dealing with just one of them was challenging enough. Then after a certain amount of time, the next king would spawn, as would the other two as more time passed. If you handle things really badly down there, you can potentially end up with all four of the kings terrorising you at the same time - in which case, you may as well swallow a fire bomb and be done with it. With melee attacks that could hit disgustingly high, and a homing magical missile attack which was (almost) impossible to shake off, these guys seemed to relish in the fact that theirs was a fight against time, and would do all in their power to make sure you spent all your time either dodging, blocking, or healing, rather than actually dealing damage to them. And many of you will know that the difficulty of these guys increases ten-fold as you advance into New Game Plus and beyond. Oh, and how many of you forgot to equip the ring before you dropped down the hole?
