Dark Souls: 8 Incredible Moments That Made Us Hardcore Fans

4. The Painted World Of Ariamis

The Painted World of Ariamis is yet another well hidden optional area of Dark Souls, but one that is probably the most deadly. Meet the requirements necessary and enter the huge painting in Anor Londo, and you€™ll have a one way ticket to a snowy world of death and defeat. Once you€™re in the only way out is forward, and trekking through this section of the game will result in your unfortunate introduction to some of the game€™s most infamously deadly creatures €“ the Crow Demons and the Skeleton Wheels. Fans will know why these two enemies have been specifically mentioned, but maybe they'd prefer to just forget. The world itself is a beautiful blend of allure and peril, and even though you may initially regret your choice of entering this hidden land, there€™s no denying that it is a magical place that climaxes with one of the most unique boss fights of the series. Crossbreed Priscilla will allow you to leave the world without engaging in a battle to the death, leaving it up to you, the player, to choose whether or not to initiate a fight - something Dark Souls doesn't do very often. There's no denying that many hardcore Souls fans appreciated the deadly challenge of this painted world and its ability to simultaneously inspire both awe and dread. Plus, there's some pretty badass loot to be acquired from venturing into this enchanted world of Ariamis.
