Dark Souls 2: The 10 Most Ridiculous Ways We All Died
4. Your First Boss Fight Goes Wrong Quickly
Part of the challenge of Dark Souls is adapting and overcoming an enemy by studying their attacks through repeated dying and learning the best approach to avoid said death. When you first play Dark Souls, this isn't knowledge you have. Instead you're probably expecting a nice easy boss with clearly highlighted weaknesses like you get in most games. How wrong you are! The Asylum Demon, the games' first official boss dude, has claimed many lives over his tenure. He's technically the easiest boss in the game, but he's also a massive intimidating presence to new players. As you traverse your first white light gate and emerge onto the other side on a balcony overlooking a courtyard, you'll more than likely look down to see the Asylum Demon staring up at you, an evil grin on his ugly face. You'll then probably ponder for a second whether you should actually drop down and engage him or not when BAM, he leaps up, destroys the platform you're on and kills you pretty much instantly. Welcome to Dark Souls! It gets worse from here.
