Dark Souls 3: 12 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
5. Do Bloodborne-Style Finishers On Large Enemies
In FromSoftware's other gruelling series, Bloodborne, parrying an enemy with a well-timed gun blast meant you could reach directly into them and pull off a Mortal Kombat-style attack for massive damage.
For Souls, parrying has always resulted in super cool animations too, and like how Bloodborne's parries worked on almost every enemy type, you can now pull them off against a huge variety of creatures in the world.
Simply stand firm in the face of whichever beast is launching at you and tap the left trigger. If your shield lines up with the creature's attack, you'll put them in a staggered state, to which you can run up, hit R1/RB and pull of a ludicrously satisfying animation.
