Dark Souls 3: 9 New Features You Need To Know About

1. An Interconnected World Returns

"Having an interconnected world is my favourite" said the creator himself in a writeup on IGN, and never has a truer word been said when it comes to experiencing a Souls game. So far we've had two a piece; Demon's and Dark Souls 2 both featured hub worlds where you'd dart off across a selection of levels one-by-one, whereas both Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne gave you fantastically-revealing, interconnected pathways, meaning you'd stumble upon an older checkpoint hours later - just as you might be thinking you were lost. Granted Bloodborne did feature a hub world too, but only for the sake of levelling up or crafting items - the levels you jumped into had various lanterns (bonfires) you'd loop back on multiple times - essentially giving you the best of both ideas. It remains to be seen whether we'll still have to travel to another realm/place just to level up (it really is unnecessary outside of thematically giving you a place to recover and rest), but for now just rest assured all that new-age tech is going to be put into creating the most surprising and expansive world yet. Are there any other new features we've missed that fans need to know about? Let us know in the comments!
