7. Something Strange In The Neighbourhood
When it comes to pretty much any media, anything goes once the paranormal is involved. Games like F.E.A.R. play heavily on this, meaning that when you size up an enemy you could be dead wrong about what they can do to you. The ghostly face on the TV in the trailer and the presence of a ouiji board in the Gamescom demo promises much more than just your run-of-the-mill slasher. Adding a supernatural element opens up a lot of doors for the game, as pitching one or two human killers against eight teenagers does put the odds in the teenagers favour. Ouiji boards have been very underused within gaming, and so the introduction of poltergeists in a house will be a very new and exciting experience. The poltergeist is a solid horror staple, and so crossing it over into video games will give fresh life, both to the trope and to the horror game genre. The only danger with the introduction of the supernatural is that there may be overkill in terms of horror tropes. Quite often when a large amount of horror eggs are thrown into one basket it can get confusing or just plain bad (see: Clive Barkers Jericho), so hopefully Until Dawn will know when to pull back, and when to make things as freaky as humanly possible.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
