Days Gone: 10 Gameplay Details You Need To Know
2. Craft To Survive
Managing
your supplies and crafting resources to aid you in survival will be a large
part of Days Gone.
Days Gone’s included crafting element is intended to help you survive post-apocalypse. Both tools and weapons can be crafted to aid Deacon throughout the game. As your experience level increases you will learn new recipes to create additional items to aid your overall survival.
Some crafting elements shown in early demo footage include a silencer made out of old truck oil filter, airbags crafted into bombs, and of course Molotov cocktails.
It’s unlikely that this game, while attempting to walk the line between gritty realism and heart pounding action, will allow you to craft such absurdities as a light saber (a la Dead Rising). It’s unknown how in-depth the crafting mechanics will be (can we make bullets like Eugene?). But the added element of crafting is a necessity for any game attempting to leave its mark amongst the already numerous entries in the post-apocalyptic survival genre.
