Dead Rising 4: 10 Reasons It's The King Of The Zombie Genre

1. A Great Horror Franchise Needs The Perfect Hero

The Evil Dead would have been nothing without Bruce Campbell. Alien wouldn't have had so much of an impact without Ripley.

To that same end, photojournalist Frank West perfectly exemplifies Dead Rising, from his half-cavalier "I've covered wars, y'know!" attitude, to his abilities with all manner of weapons. He even busts out the occasional scene-stealing roundhouse kick for good measure.

Obviously you have to hand it to Chuck and Nick Ramos for Dead Rising 2 and 3, but many of our fondest memories of the franchise were forged in the fires of the original - something Capcom have rekindled by making the fourth instalment both a loving tribute to, and a continuation of, that very first game at the same time.
