Death Stranding: 21 WTF Moments You Need To See To Believe

3. Die-Hardman Becomes The President Of The UCA

Die-Hardman has a surprisingly inconsequential role throughout most of the game, largely serving as a quest-giver until the ending, where it's revealed that he goes on to become the President of a fully-connected UCA.

Given that he was revealed to have murdered Cliff under questionable auspices earlier in the game, it's pretty telling that Kojima opted to end the story on a morally ambiguous note with this same man now presiding over what remains of the U.S.

Whether or not you bought Die-Hardman as President, it gave the character's actor, Tommy Earl Jenkins, a killer opportunity to remove his mask and give perhaps the game's most evocative and emotional performance in the final stretch. Bravo.
