Deathloop PS5 Review: 8 Ups & 3 Downs

Is Deathloop a Game of the Year contender?

2021 will go down as the year of the timeloop game, and Deathloop, the latest release from famed developer Arkane, is the biggest and most bombastic one yet.

Here you play as Colt, a man who after being brutally murdered, quickly realises he's repeating the same day over and over. Upon either his death or the day itself finishing, he's thrown back to a beach where he wakes up with the world's worst hangover.

As Colt, your goal is to break the loop. The way to do that is to assassinate eight Visionaries - powerful enemies scattered around the game's four major areas - before the day is over.

That's easier said than done though, as Julianna - the only other person who knows they're in a time loop - is out to hunt you down. Oh, and Julianna just so happens to be controlled by another, real-life player.

The PS5 exclusive is already receiving huge praise, but does it live up to the hype?
