Destiny 2: 10 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do
3. Understanding The New Infusion System
Infusing used to be pretty simple; you took the weak gun or armor you liked and made it stronger with stronger pieces you didn't like. At its core, this is still the same process in Destiny 2, but there's been a slight change: You used to be able to infuse any primary gun with any other primary gun. For example, you used to be able to make a hand cannon stronger with an auto rifle.
That is no longer the case.
When it comes to infusing in Destiny 2, all weapon types must match. Sub-machine guns must be infused with sub-machine guns. Snipers must be infused with snipers, and so on. This will put a speed bump in your plans to just hold guns you don't like in hopes of making that one you do stronger. You're going to have to make sure that the types line up, or the infusion is going to be a no go.
The same thing applies to armor. If you are one of those original Destiny players who thought you were just going to throw your old Hunter armor in the vault to infuse on your Titan, think again. Each class can only be infused with its own class armor, so be sure that you make a game plan when it comes to infusion, and that you don't get too trigger happy with dismantling high level gear. You never know when you're going to need it.
