Destiny 2: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

4. 'Adventures' & Lore Overall Is Handled Infinitely Better

Formerly resigned to the collectible Grimoire cards that peppered Bungie's website, literally the only way to understand what the hell was going on in Destiny was to leave the game and put the time into reading every last one.

Nothing like breaking a game's loop to peruse a Wiki to really keep you invested, right?

Thankfully, mercifully, this process has been replaced by the 'Adventures' side-missions; awesome little chunks of gameplay involving a range of basic goals like defending a point on the map, retrieving a specific item, clearing an underground expanse etc. as narration fills you in on any number of lore-based things.

Alien factions, fallen leaders, how the current rebellion is going against the Cabal - each one hints at the wider narrative tapestry so many Destiny fans already know so well, and it's the perfect way to offer additional depth to such an impressive universe.
