Destiny 2 Expansion Passes
Bungie

Straddling the line between genres as it does, the method and frequency of content delivery for Destiny has always been a point of contention for fans. Both the House of Wolves and Dark Below rolled out the door not long after the shooter/MMO hybrid's launch, but several long content droughts followed shortly thereafter.

Bungie has never explicitly stated why a void of nothingness preceded The Taken King and Rise of Iron expansions (limited-time events not included), but Destiny's tumultuous development cycle likely contributed to the chopping and changing of content that was originally part of the vanilla experience.

Lack of manpower is another likely contributor, but with High Moon Studios and Vicarious Visions now on board to bolster numbers, we'll hopefully not just be seeing the same level of quality as seen in Destiny's DLC, but more of it at a higher frequency.
