It's hard to believe that, in video game years, both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are already nearing middle age and, just as it affects us fleshy humans, the first gray hairs are starting to show as they edge ever closer to retirement age.

Fortunately, unlike the painfully protracted lifespan of the Xbox 360 and PS3, both Microsoft and Sony have been much more proactive this time around by offering a mid-generation upgrade in the PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio, but it's still not enough, by the looks of it.

The gap between console and PC gaming continues to grow, the latter boasting the undisputed bee's knees in terms of visual fidelity and performance for video games, and that includes Destiny 2.

Bungie and Activision have already confirmed that the sequel won't run at 60 fps on the Pro, but whether the Scorpio will be hit with the same restrictions remains to be seen. On paper, it should be more than capable of running Bungie's next adventure at a solid 60, but that's no guarantee that it will.

Can Microsoft one-up the competition by offering the definitive version (exclusive content excluded) on console? We'll hopefully find out next week.
