DmC: 5 Reasons Dante’s Rebirth Is A Blessing

2. Dante's Emo...Wait! What?

By now we all know that Dante has faced what some would call a "complete" redesign. To the point that Dante isn't even recognizable as Dante, and more importantly that this isn't the same Devil May Cry franchise fans have grown to love. Yet, it seems that Ninja Theory has chosen to focus on the core components of what made Devil May Cry truly DmC, and that's the combat. Sure, they redesigned the white haired devil, and trust me when I tell you that I do have my issues with the direction they have chosen to take Dante, but the part of me that is angered by this simmers down upon remembering that once you trigger "Devil Mode", he bursts into an alternate form which resembles the badass version we all remember. Dante still demolishes his foes with a combination of grace and brutality. Juggling remains a factor and with the proper skill you can juggle a group of enemies without ever touching the ground. I think of it that Ninja Theory purposely ventured away from the classic Dante in favor of paying tribute to the fans by including a more "powerful" aesthetic that comes into effect when you click in the joysticks to activate "Devil Trigger" and you're all too powerful in DmC.
