Doom 4: 10 Big Reasons It'll Be The Best Shooter Of 2016

9. The Sound Design

The moaning of a zombie. The roar of an imp. The screech of a demon. These are the sounds that have ingrained themselves into the minds of anyone who has played the original Doom, and that€™s because these games have some of the most inventive and memorable sounds you€™ll ever find in a video game. Even something as simple as the opening of a door is unforgettable. And no one can forget the equally amazing soundtrack, which gives these games a uniquely hard-edged and industrial tone. Doom is just an amazing-sounding series in general, and it€™s all because of the top-notch sound design that has thankfully endured throughout every instalment. Given this fact, it€™s not a stretch to expect Doom 4€™s sound design to be just as remarkable, especially considering id Software€™s stated intent to remain faithful to the roots of the franchise. The E3 footage alone was full of the familiar and iconic sounds so many associate with Doom, but updated and enhanced, which bodes well for the final release. So while not much of Doom 4€™s sound has been heard at this point, there€™s little evidence to suggest you€™ll get anything less than the same magnificent sound design that has given this series its voice for so long.
