4. Rogan Really Likes Quake

As previously mentioned, Joe Rogan's love of the 1996 game Quake and its sequels is not exactly a secret among long-time fans of the JRE, with this episode of the podcast joining a laundry list of occasions that Rogan has taken the opportunity to wax lyrical about the game's multiplayer.

After obsessing over the original title in marathon sessions during the 90s, Rogan rekindled his love of the Quake series after moving into the purpose-built JRE studio, playing the 2018 free-to-play Quake Champions with podcast producer Young Jamie.

This becomes evident to an almost-awkward extent in his conversation with Martin as Rogan persistently asks why the new DOOM title will not feature a 1v1 mode in the vain of his beloved Quake.

Martin repeadtedly explains that the new DOOM game's multiplayer is attempting to offer an entirely different and unique online experience, but Rogan clearly wants his multiplayer to resemble the one he is accustomed to.

Despite seemingly not being Rogan's cup of tea, Martin did discuss some of the new features of DOOM Eternal's multiplayer...
