DOOM Eternal: Ranking EVERY Weapon From Worst To Best
11. Heavy Cannon
The first pickup weapon of the game, the Heavy Cannon is a fully automatic heavy assault rifle, and a solid choice for when you're low on ammo on some of your heftier weapons.
Unfortunately, that's about all it's good for. With its relatively low rate of fire and only average damage, this weapon becomes less and less of a priority the further the game progresses. Relying on the Cannon on some of Doom Eternal's tougher arenas is likely to see Doom Guy chewed up and spat out by the hungry maw of a Cacodemon. Seriously, that mouth is HUGE.
While the mods do help a tad, especially the precision shot option, there's little chance to take time to line up the perfect hit, because, well, demons. They're everywhere. That said, when it does happen, watching an imp's head suddenly go from solid and screaming to liquid and squelching is a satisfaction like no other. Watching as that perfectly pixelated blood fountain belches forth, doesn't it just warm the cockles of your immortal, sephorim superheart?
Still, use this gun to chew through some of the fodder without expending your precious shotgun shells, but then perhaps consider the Chaingun (more on that later).
