DOOM Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know
2. Multiplayer (So Far)
"While the maps themselves in Doom are quite straightforward, the simplicity of the game's level design actually makes the title extremely accessible to anyone who wants to jump in, regardless of skill" [...] "Especially on next-gen consoles, there's virtually no title providing currently an experience that's about the simple joy of blowing up other players in such a compact, cerebrally-intense way." - Josh Brown, WhatCulture (Beta)
Judging the multiplayer component at this stage is a little hard, simply because the world isn't fully acquainted with DOOM, its servers or the tactics used to get ahead.
Bethesda withheld their servers going online until launch day so both critics and fans would start out on a level playing field - the same tactic used for The Division, which ended up working quite well, all things considered.
