3. Communicate With Teammates

Mic is not requirement for playing DotA 2, but it certainly helps. At least you won't have embarrassing moments of dying because you were typing. However, if you're not about that life, even without mic, there are plenty ways you can communicate with your team mates. Doing so would always increase your chance of winning. So why not?

Picking phase begins soon as all ten players are loaded up. First is the ban phase. Now is when you can click on the mini map on bottom left, to indicate to team mates which lanes you are going. This could help your team mates decide on which hero to be.

During the early phase of the game, when heroes are much more susceptible to ganks, it's important to announce when enemies go missing from your lane.

It's actually everyone's job to keep an eye out and maintain good map awareness, but between last hitting and eating tangos, sometimes it's easy to not even look at the mini map. So the idea is that it would be easier for you to report missing, since they went missing from your lane. Use the chat wheel. Failed ganks are amazing counter strategy because now the enemy players have allocated resources and gained nothing from it, thereby allowing your team to pull ahead.

Hold down Alt button and left click on any spell notifies the team mates of the status of the selected spell, reminding them whether you have the necessary spells off cooldown to engage in team fight.
