1. The Ending
As stated, Origins was a great game. In had so many things going for it. The ending was one of those things except that the player was in no doubt who the final boss was from right when they started building up their forces (spoiler, it's a dragon). In the grand scheme of things this is very much a minor issue as Origins was more about the journey rather than the destination. Also the final battle was pretty epic. Dragon Age 2 gave you hints as to what was going to go down but there was a lot more mystery and suspense with the who, the what, the why and the how that made it so good. And when that final battle came with all those statues and that strange artefact that you thought the game had forgotten about, it was just as epic, if not more so than the first game. Then there's the aftermath to consider. Both games got DLC to expand the experience but would you want to play as the victorious Hero who had just prevented a Blight from consuming Ferelden but now had nothing much left to fight for, or would you prefer to play a fugitive on the run from Templars as the world is about to be plunged into a civil war. I know which one I would choose. Ultimately though, all we can do is hope that Dragon Age 3 combines the best of both games with something new to give the series the ultimate high to finish on. Unless of course they bring out Dragon Age 4 but I mean, what are the chances of that right?
